To Cold Call or Not To Cold Call- That is the Question

You can cold call to companies to see if they want you to come in and do an event for the staff or when you can call an organization to offer to do a free speech related to your product or service to meet people and add customers.

There are a lot of people in network marketing that purchase leads of people interested in starting a business. This can be beneficial as it develops your skills of selling or pitching over the phone and talking about your business. However, having it actually be an effective tool in adding recruits to your team is unlikely. You have to connect with many people to get one interested person. Also, those lists are often over used so the people you are calling have already heard from many other people like you.

To be successful in direct sales and network marketing, it is critical for you to recognize that building relationships with your customers, hostesses and team members is essential to build a viable and sustainable business.Whoever you would cold call, you can instead invite them to a live event- a show or your own open house or even a business opportunity meeting. This way they will have a personal experience of you and be ready to buy from you, book from you, or sign up with you.
Let me make an important distinction here. Cold calling is selling not marketing and usually you want to have provided some value through your marketing to your prospects before you try to sell to them.

Remember that potential clients sometimes need up to as many as 11 contacts with you and your company before they are ready to buy.

If you feel you have no choice but to cold call, you are not probably getting out there and meeting people. You have probably not put together a list of everyone you have ever known who would make a good hostess, customer or business partner. Plus, I can pretty much bet you are not doing enough events or shows and you have definitely not focused on asking people for referrals. If you begin by doing the four things I have just mentioned, you will be able to come up with lots of warm leads. Focus on connecting with your warm leads and cultivating more warm leads and you will never have to pick up that icy phone again.
